If you’ve been to Foxcroft at Waverly, you already know it’s not just a wine bar. Yes, the wine list is deep, thoughtful, and always approachable. But what really surprises a lot of first-timers and keeps regulars coming back, is the food.
And that’s exactly why the name has changed.
After more than two decades operating as Foxcroft Wine Co., the Charlotte-based restaurant group is officially rebranding to Foxcroft Food & Wine. It’s a small shift in wording, but it reflects a much bigger evolution in what the business has become.
It’s not a rebrand just for the sake of rebranding. According to founder Conrad Hunter, the new name simply reflects what Foxcroft has grown into over the past 20 years. What started as a boutique wine shop in Charlotte’s Foxcroft neighborhood in 2004 has expanded into a full-service restaurant group with six locations (and more on the way).
“People would come in expecting to browse bottles and be surprised to find a full dinner menu — house-made pasta, wood-fired steak, the whole nine,” Hunter said. “We realized our name wasn’t telling the full story.”
And let’s be honest: if you’ve eaten at the Waverly location, you know it’s more than a wine bar. The food is just as much the star of the show as the wine.
The new name comes with a few exciting changes, but don’t worry, your favorite wine flights aren’t going anywhere.
Here’s what’s happening:
As for the wine? It’s still front and center. With over 40 wines by the glass and 400+ bottles on the list, Foxcroft continues to make exploring wine fun and approachable — whether you’re a seasoned collector or just learning the difference between a Syrah and a Shiraz.
Since opening in 2019, the Waverly location has become a go-to for South Charlotte locals, a place for date nights, business lunches, or last-minute “let’s grab a glass” hangouts. It’s spacious (4,000 square feet, to be exact), cozy, and always buzzing.
And while each Foxcroft spot feels a little different depending on its neighborhood, they all share the same DNA: killer food, great wine, and staff who genuinely love what they do.
