Teddy & Lu offers a curated selection of stylish clothing, accessories, and gifts for little ones, promising a delightful shopping experience for every family right here at Waverly. We sat down and spoke to owner Tina Smith on why she wanted to open a high-end Children’s boutique.
What inspired you to open a high-end children’s boutique in Waverly, and how did you identify the need for this type of store in the market?
I owned an upscale children’s clothing boutique 20 years ago in South Charlotte. After my husband and I started a family, I sold the shop to stay home with my 3 children. Now that they’re older, I began to look for my next chapter. I love the children’s clothing industry and wanted to get back into it. South Charlotte doesn’t have a great children’s boutique, so I jumped at the chance to start one again. I am so excited to be in Waverly, the hottest retail spot in South Charlotte!
What can people find when they shop at Teddy & Lu?
They can find the latest style clothing for their little ones, from traditional to more trendy designs. We will also carry all the accessories you need to complete the outfits – shoes, hairbows, and the like. We’ll have gifts for babies and kids, and even a baby gift registry.
What sets you apart from your competitors?
I really think it’s the personal touch and service. Certainly we will have high quality clothing and gifts, but we love going the extra mile to help our customers get what they need when they need it.
What will be your hours of operation?
We’ll be open Monday through Saturday from 10 am – 6 pm and closed on Sunday.
What makes you most excited to join the Waverly community?
The location in South Charlotte is the best! We have easy access to all of our customer base being near Providence and I-485. We also love the mix of restaurants and other boutiques that are currently in Waverly. We think that our customers are already shopping at the wonderful retailers that are in Waverly.
